Traditionally, regulations have required that if a computer is allowed on an airplane, 1) the battery must pass the UN38.3 test, 2) the lithium battery must be disassembled, and 3) the capacity of the lithium battery must not exceed a certain value.
However, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) revised the regulations for carrying lithium batteries on electric wheelchairs on board in 2022. The second and third requirements above are cancelled. If the battery of the electric wheelchair is designed to be non-removable, there is no limit on the battery capacity. Therefore, the Nova-X electric wheelchair has passed the UN38.3 test and complies with the latest regulations of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

 

2. How long does it take to maintain a Nova-X electric wheelchair?
